Comprehensive assessment of housing and support needs. Learning outcomes
The learning outcomes were defined by the TOPHOUSE specialists and partners at the beginning of the programme, and the materials and training developed later are based on these 11 principles in order to ensure that the specialists carry out proper assessment of the housing and support needs.
The Learning outcomes are defined as:
1. Working so that a person-centred planning is applied
2. Treating service users with dignity and respect
3. Encouraging choice and control by users of the services
4. Developing co-production strategies with service users who are ‘experts by experience'
5. Building trusting relationships with service users
6. Communicating effectively and openly
7. Allowing service users to manage the risk, both for one’s own person as well as for others
8. Allowing service users to take positive risks
9. Establishing safeguards for service users
10. Strengthening multidisciplinary and inter-institutional work
11. Developing networks and cooperation frameworks with other service providers
Any approach to carry out an effective assessment that integrates housing and support needs should include these principles. This link shows a relationship between the learning outcomes and the different TOPHOUSE training modules so that the necessary skills and knowledge are gained on a cross-cutting basis.
