Networking within the territory
To fulfil the support functions and with the aim to offer a comprehensive support to the persons being assisted, the activity of Support-Girona involves cooperation with public and private organisations that manage social services (both essential and specialised), health services, services for employment integration, community development, and civic activities, among others, along with courts, prosecutor’s office, security forces, local administrations, and various departments of the Government of Catalonia. Support-Girona is aware that it is only by working within a network can real support can be offered.
It is common for many social service organisations to include Support-Girona in the relevant participating bodies as an entity that offers support to many of their users. Thus, Support-Girona is a member of the advisory boards of the Retirement Home Robert Pallí and the Special Work Centre El Puig (COIET) in Banyoles as well as the governing bodies of the VIMAR Foundation and the Catalan Association of Assistance Resources (ACRA).
Moreover, Support-Girona is a member of the Mental Health Board in the Girona City Council and the Technical and Operational Health Commission in Girona for the assessment of cases by the advising teams with a close attention to complexity aimed at young people and adolescents and created in accordance with the Program for a Comprehensive Approach to High Complexity Cases of Mental Health and Addictions of the Department of Health (PAICSAMAEC).
Support-Girona is a member of the Catalan Coordinator of Foundations and the Social Inclusion Housing Network of the Housing Agency from the Government of Catalonia.
